Firm engagement terms.

The standard terms on which TaxSQR prepares tax return files for CPA and EA firms. Each firm signs a services agreement per tax year; this page summarizes what it says.

The shape of the engagement

Each engagement is a services agreement between TaxSQR LLC (30 N Gould St, Ste N, Sheridan, WY 82801) and your firm, covering one tax year — currently 2025 or 2026 — with fees in a schedule that can be re-set each year. Work is exchanged through the TaxSQR platform or another secure platform of our choice.

What TaxSQR does

We prepare US federal and state income tax return files — the return, the workpapers, and the workflow record — with senior-preparer review before delivery. Turnaround runs against the service levels on our Service Levels page. Bookkeeping, IRS representation, advisory work, and amended prior years are separately scoped and priced.

What your firm keeps

Everything that matters: your firm reviews every file, remains preparer of record, signs and e-files under its own PTIN and EFIN, and keeps the client relationship and client billing. TaxSQR never signs or files a return.

Quality standard

Our work is measured against tax position papers signed off by both firms before work begins. A deviation from those papers is an error and is corrected at our cost; a question the papers do not cover becomes a written query, and your firm’s answer joins the papers. Each file fee includes one preparation plus two document iterations.

Staffing

Selecting, assigning, and supervising preparers is TaxSQR’s responsibility. Your firm gets a named engagement lead as a single point of contact, and our staff are trained and bound by written confidentiality obligations. Both sides agree not to hire each other’s people during the engagement and for 18 months after.

Data, consents, and where work happens

Files are prepared at our offices in India, with TaxSQR LLC fully responsible as your only counterparty, and no work passed outside the TaxSQR group without your written approval. Your firm obtains each taxpayer’s consent first — see Taxpayer Consent — and our data commitments live in the Data Processing Addendum, Data Retention Policy, and Incident Response pages.

Money and risk

We invoice monthly, payable in 10 days, with a written window to dispute a line item. We warrant each file against the signed-off position papers — the remedy is correction, then a refund of that file’s fee — and our liability is capped at the fees paid for the files concerned, except for confidentiality or data breaches, which are not capped. We carry professional liability and cyber insurance.

Ending it

Either side can end the agreement on 30 days’ notice, or immediately for an uncured material breach. Your firm chooses whether in-progress files are completed or handed back. Wyoming law governs, with good-faith discussion and mediation before any court.
