About Steve

Steve has prepared US tax returns since 2003, including years at Deloitte. He is an IRS Enrolled Agent, licensed by the IRS itself, which means he can represent clients before the agency on audits, collections and appeals, not just prepare their returns.

He co-founded TaxSQR and MobilitySQR to make US compliance straightforward for Americans who live abroad: the annual 1040, the FBAR, and catching up when years have been missed.

What does an enrolled agent do?

Enrolled agents are licensed by the IRS itself, usually after passing its three-part exam on individual tax, business tax and representation, and they have to keep up continuing education to stay licensed. That license lets an EA represent any taxpayer before the IRS, on any tax matter, at every level of the agency. It's the same unlimited representation right that CPAs and tax attorneys have, and it's the credential behind every return we sign.
